Skiing the Kamchatka Peninsula

February 12, 2020 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

A slideshow, talk, & Sawtooth Avalanche Center fundraiser.

If you’ve never heard of Kamchatka, Russia, you’re to be forgiven. Until 1990, even Russians were forbidden to enter this military zone, let alone foreigners. This large and sparsely settled volcanic peninsula lies on the far eastern edge of Russia, jutting out into the Pacific Ocean north of Japan. Join Mike Hattrup, Ketchum local, AMGA ski guide, and Fischer U.S. Product Marketing Manager as he takes you on a truly unique skier’s journey of this Unesco World Heritage zone, an utterly remarkable landscape on the Pacific’s Ring of Fire.

$15 tickets – only available at the door, sales start at 6:00 PM. First come, first served. Any/all proceeds raised to directly benefit programming and services provided by the Sawtooth Avalanche Center.
