Mark your calendars and join the WAC for the 14th Annual Eastern Oregon Backcountry Festival! Friday, January 30th through Sunday, February 1st.

On Fri, Jan 30th, we will be screening MSP Films new film “After the Snowfall” at HQ Avenue in La Grande. Tickets are $15 (kids are free!) We will also have a Pie Auction, so break out your grandma’s famous pie recipes to help the WAC raise some funds for Avalanche Forecasting! If you would like to donate a Pie for the auction, email Rex at rex@wallowaavalanchecenter.org

Saturday, Jan 31st we head up to Anthony Lakes Mountain Resort for the annual Kip Rand Memorial Backcountry Race @ 8 AM. Participants must register (Register Here) for the race.

There will be a FREE companion rescue ( Register Here) and snow science clinic (Register Here) for attendees, and then live music being played by High Pine Whiskey Yell . Bring your dancing shoes!

On Sunday, Feb 1st, we will have a guided tour into Angell Basin (Register Here). This tour will have limited spots available, so register ASAP to secure your spot.
