In a pit dug near the blue gate of the 409 rd, we observed an ETC 1 at 15cm. It fully propagated across the column on the first compression. The upper 15cm was unconsolidated powder, that slid on a very thin layer of crust. We stuck to low angle terrain but did not observe any natural avalanches, nor did we trigger anything. The propagating upper layer with likely windslabs lower down, kept our route selection cautious.
