Observations

We skied toured on Phat Ridge December 27-28. Thanks to two skiers for the skinner on December 26. We followed it mostly until it was blown in higher up. About 135cm at 6900’ - bottom of Phat. We dug a pit at 8000’ - 210 cm HS. ECTX. Snowpack felt very right side up with progressive firmness lower down. Thou, when we pried the isolated block from the back it did break about 50 cms down.
The pow was incredible- even the top 400’ of Phat which is usually wind whacked and scoured.
Only saw a glimpse of one person on the 27th and two others on the 28th (then group of three on the way out).
Regen on Phat is really creeping up and wide. Yikes.
Thanks for the good work of the WAC. Much appreciated.
John and Lisa
