We dug a pit at 7200ft ENE aspect on Wing Ridge. 170cm total snow depth, 30 degree slope. On a compression test we had a failure at tap 15, 60cm from the surface. We repeated this in a neighboring pit with similar results. From what we can tell, the snow above the failure has not formed a slab but also has not bonded with the layer below. The density also went from "fist" to 4F at this layer. Great fluffy powpow for skiing at <30 degrees today.
