Did a short tour out of Salt Creek Summit for an assessment of conditions. The weather was overcast with light winds and S-1 snow. We dug a pit at 6950' on an ENE aspect with an HS of 100. There was a stout 2 cm crust under 10-15 cms of new snow from last night - this crust was prevalent throughout the tour on multiple aspects, although less stout on the norths. Below that there was a 1F layer of rounds over a facet layer (4F-F+) from 50 to 30 cms deep. At this interface we got results on two tests: CTM SC Q1 and ECTP 18. From 30 cms to the ground was a pencil hardness layer.
