Snow depth of new storm snow was variable due to wind, scraped down to the Solstice ice crust or up to 2' pillows. The higher elevation was more impacted. Mitt pits showed an upside down snow pack above the Solstice ice crust. New snow was denser near the surface, mostly fist (soft slabs). Most of the mitt pits I did ,collapsed on themselves after cutting the backside. On the bigger wind pillows I could get propagation on ski cuts above the skin tracks. Skiing was good in more protected areas. Winds picked up in the afternoon.
