Signs of Unstable Snow

Did you see shooting cracks?
No
Did you experience collapsing or whumpfing?
Yes, Isolated

Observations

The new snow over the Solstice rain crust, seems to be forming soft slabs due to light to moderate winds during and after each snow. I had a failure of this soft slab at a faceted interface above the rain crust. Something to watch for with additional snow and increased winds. I had a few collapses into weaker snow below the rain crust around rock features. Skiing was good, but snow was dense.
