Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Went for a Thanksgiving ski tour this morning, near Anthony Lakes ski area. Found 4-6" of new snow from past couple of days. Overall height of snow was about 2.5' above 7,000'. Performed a Compression Test and had insignificant failures on a melt freeze crust down 30cm. The snow on top of the crust was fluffy, so no slab was present. Good early season skiing, still rocks and down trees to look out for.
