Signs of Unstable Snow

Observations

Observations for 2/24-2/26: consistent 4-10 inches of light snow on top of a very textured hard surface (did not dig into this). Some aspects had some thin wind packed layers low in the light snow. No signs of instability on moderate slope north aspects. Observed previous small slab releases from high on steep west aspect ridges that did not travel far on reaching moderate slopes. Lots of wind transporting snow 2/26 and 2/27.
