Wednesday through Friday brought significant precip and wind to the Southern Wallowas. Just under three inches of snow water equivalent fell, about 2.5 ft of new snow and snow line was wavering around 4500 ft. This wetter storm caused numerous storm slab avalanches in the mountains, up to D2 in size. Loose snow avalanches also observed. Calm and clear, colder weather settled in for the weekend, snowpack has adjusted and no red flags have been observed since Friday. High winds from the NW on Friday and moderate wind from the SW on Sunday night has likely left stubborn wind slabs in certain terrain features in the alpine. Dry loose on steeper slopes. 4mm surface hoar has been observed widespread below tree line.
