Did you know that the area just outside the Sun Valley Resort ski area boundary has been the site of two serious avalanche accidents in recent years? While Sun Valley staff diligently minimize the Baldy in-bounds avalanche hazard each day, the “sidecountry” on the other side of the ropes is unpatrolled and uncontrolled. Join SAC Director and Forecaster, Scott Savage, and Sun Valley Snow Safety Director, Skooter Gardiner, to learn about this terrain and how you can help your kids stay safe. If you hear your kids talking about “The Burn” – it’s not in bounds or patrolled.
